Job Description

Overview

At Firetronics safety is our number one concern. We specialize in installing, maintaining and monitoring ULC fire alarm systems and we stand by our services and products, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations, industry standards and guidelines. One of our principal goals is to be a dependable and trusted partner to our clients, authorities and associations.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor fire and security alarm systems utilizing specialized monitoring software and equipment
  • Respond to incoming alarm signals by notifying appropriate authorities such as Fire Department, Police, Emergency Medical Services and other contacts in a prompt and efficient manner following strict procedures
  • Diligently keep required records and files
  • Handle all telephone calls in a professional manner
  • Prepare and distribute reports internally and to external parties as required
  • Follow all established procedures, regulations and guidelines
  • Other related duties as may be assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Preferred a minimum of 1 year experience in the same or similar role such as 911 Operator/Dispatcher, Call Centre Operator, etc.
  • Verbal and written fluency in English
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work 12-hour rotating shifts (day and nights)
  • Advanced computer proficiency with strong data entry/keyboarding skills
  • Experience with SIMS alarm monitoring software is an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to stay focused at all times during working hours
  • Passing criminal record check

 

Training

Required training will be provided.

 

Work Conditions

  • Continuous operations (24/7)
  • 12-hour rotating shifts (days 7 am to 7 pm; nights 7 pm to 7 am)
  • 14 working days per month (7 days and 7 nights)
  • Office environment with semi-open workstations
  • Located close to major highways and public transit

 

Benefits

Enrollment in company benefits plan after 6 months of continuous employment.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 to $18.00 /hour
