Bilingual Monitoring and Answering Service Operator (English/French)

 

Overview

At Firetronics safety is our number one concern. We specialize in installing, maintaining and monitoring ULC fire alarm systems and we stand by our services and products, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations, industry standards and guidelines. One of our principal goals is to be a dependable and trusted partner to our clients, authorities and associations.

We presently have multiple openings for a Bilingual (English/French) Answering Service Operator positions within our Answering Services group.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handle all telephone calls efficiently and in a professional manner
  • Notify appropriate contacts or emergency authorities such as Fire Department, Police, Emergency Medical Services in a prompt and efficient manner following strict procedures
  • Diligently keep required records and files
  • Prepare and distribute reports internally and to external parties as required
  • Follow all established procedures, regulations and guidelines
  • Other related duties as may be assigned

Qualifications

  • Verbal and written fluency in both English and French
  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Preferred a minimum of 1 year experience in the same or similar role such as Customer Service Representative (CSR), Telephone Operator/Agent, Call Centre Operator/Agent, Answering Service Operator/Agent, etc.
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills
  • Flexibility to work 12-hour rotating shifts (days and nights)
  • Advanced computer proficiency with strong data entry/keyboarding skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to stay focused at all times during working hours
  • Passing criminal record check

Work Conditions

  • Continuous operations (24/7)
  • 12-hour rotating shifts (days 7 am to 7 pm; nights 7 pm to 7 am)
  • 14 working days per month (7 days and 7 nights)
  • Office environment with semi-open workstations
  • Located close to major highways and public transit

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $18.00 per hour
